Success Story

A training program where the participants were teams

Challenge

A multilateral development organization engaged us to design and implement a capacity-building program aimed at teams responsible for executing funded projects in various countries across the region.

The central challenge lay in the complexity of the work ecosystem: the teams were composed of both government officials

—responsible for local project implementation—and specialists and analysts from the organization itself. This configuration required coordinating actors with different institutional frameworks, priorities, work cultures, and levels of influence, in contexts where effective coordination is critical to achieving results.

Solution

We co-designed a training program that combined in-person and virtual sessions, focused on generating applied and sustained learning over time. The program content centered on critical capabilities for multi-stakeholder contexts, such as effective communication; negotiation and consensus-building;

leadership and communication. After participating as partners in the program design, we supported its execution during a pilot phase in 4 countries, which served to gather lessons learned and adjust the design to optimize the project’s impact and scalability.
